It would be air to say that Weymouth Railway Station is the main transport link in the local area, and it is a terminus for a rote that travels to London Waterloo station. The station also provides connections to Westbury and Bristol.

There are two services an hour heading towards London Waterloo via Basingstoke, and the standard journey time is 2 hours and 46 minutes or 3 hours. This is slightly too long to be comfortable for a commute to and from the capital, but it does mean that anyone heading into London for a special occasion has a dependable connection. There are services every two hours to Bristol Temple Meads, with some journeys being completed in less than two and a half hours.

Main roads in the area include the A354, the A353 and the B3157, with these roads connecting to the A35 and the A352. The A354 is the main connection to the trunk road of Dorchester, which terminates on the Isle of Portland while the A353 heads from the east of Weymouth eventually connecting to Wareham and the Isle of  Purbeck.
